Crawley YBC: Bowlers Charter
At Crawley Youth Bowling Club, we want bowling to be fun, fair and friendly for everyone. This charter sets out how we expect all our bowlers to behave so that we can enjoy the sport, improve our skills, and support one another.
Play Fair
I will always try my best and play honestly.
I will follow the rules of bowling as set out by the BTBA, including lane etiquette and fair play.
I will stay on my assigned lane, remain focused, and keep pace by not wandering off so that games run smoothly for everyone.
I understand that rules help keep the game fair and enjoyable for everyone.
Respect Others
I will treat other bowlers, coaches, officials and parents with respect.
I will use kind words and good manners, even when things don’t go my way.
I will respect bowling centre staff, equipment and facilities.
Support Each Other
I will encourage my teammates and other bowlers, whether they bowl a strike or a gutter ball.
I understand that everyone learns at different speeds.
I will celebrate effort and improvement, not just scores.
Listen and Learn
I will listen carefully when coaches are speaking.
I will try to follow coaching advice and ask questions if I don’t understand.
I understand that coaching helps me improve and stay safe.
I will not use my phone or other devices while I am on the lanes, unless a coach says it is okay, so I can stay focused, safe and present.
Be a Good Sport
I will be gracious in both winning and losing.
I understand that bowling can bring up big feelings, and that everyone experiences these differently.
I will do my best to express my feelings in a safe and respectful way, and ask for help if I need it.
I know that mistakes are part of learning.
Represent Crawley YBC
I will be proud to represent Crawley YBC at training, competitions and events.
I understand that my behaviour reflects on my club.
Our Promise
By following this charter, we help make Crawley YBC a club where everyone feels welcome, supported and excited to bowl.
Have fun. Be kind. Bowl your best.
